Puzzle 208: Pentasight

  A pentomino is a shape made out of five orthogonally continuous squares. All of the possible pentominoes are pictured below (rotations and reflections are considered to be the same pentomino).

Puzzle 203: Magic Summer (1-5)

Place the digits 1-5 in the grid, so that each digit appears exactly once in each row and in each column (in the example place the digits 1-3). Digits that are vertically or horizontally adjacent form a single number (reading from top to bottom or left to right). Empty cells separate numbers. A hint outside the grid is equal to the sum of numbers in its respective row or column. The puzzle has a single solution.

Write a number in each arrow, so that the number in each arrow indicates how many different numbers it points at. The puzzle has a single solution.

Rules for Battleship

Fill in the grid with the battleships pictured below it. Each ship can be positioned vertically or horizontally. No ship may touch another ship, not even diagonally. A ship's length indicated how many squares it fills. A number besides a row or column indicates how many squares in the row or column have a ship part in them.

Some squares were filled with water already, and do not have ships going through them. Some squares were filled with parts of ships. The puzzle has a unique solution.

The Plus-Minus Twist

The clues are divided into several groups. Each group has a sign next to it: + (colored green), - (colored red), or no sign (colored white). In each group with a + sign, exactly one of the clues is wrong, and needs to be increased by one to be correct. In each group with a - sign, exactly one of the clues is wrong, and needs to be decreased by one to be correct.

Puzzle 200: Password Path

Draw a path that starts from the top left cell, ends at the bottom right cell, and goes through all of the cells in the grid exactly once. The path can pass between two cells that are horizontally, vertically, or diagonally adjacent. The path cannot touch or intersect itself. When reading along the path, from the beginning to the end, it must read 2-0-0-2-0-0-2-0-0-... (in other words, in this puzzle the password is 200, and when going along the path, it must read the password repeatedly). The puzzle has a single solution.

Puzzle 197: Double Trouble: Blokus (5 tetrominoes) and Heyawake

The following is a Blokus puzzle, that becomes a Heyawake puzzle after it is solved.

Start with the Blokus puzzle:

Shade in some cells, so that the shaded cells form the five different tetrominoes shown below the grid (mirrors and rotations are considered to be the same), so each one appears exactly once. Ignore the numbers in them, they will come into play in the Heyawake puzzle. Two tetrominoes cannot touch along an edge, but can touch at a corner. A dot indicates that two tetrominoes touch at that corner. All of the corners in which tetrominoes touch are marked with dots. The puzzle has a single solution.

After you finish sloving the Blokus puzzle:
For each shaded tetromino, write in its top left corner the number written in it in the puzzle. This number isn't affected, even if the shape was rotated or mirrored. Outline the shapes you shaded in with thick borders, and remove the shading from all cells. You now have a Heyawake puzzle:

A tetromino is a shape made up of four orthogonally adjacent squares (the shapes used in tetris).
Shade in some cells, so that the shaded cells form the five different tetrominoes (mirrors and rotations are considered to be the same), so each one appears exactly once. Two tetrominoes cannot touch along an edge, but can touch at a corner. A dot indicates that two tetrominoes touch at that corner. All of the corners in which tetrominoes touch are marked with dots. The puzzle has a single solution.
